By Bethany Hahesy @ 8:49 AM :: 95 Views

TSGT Apprentice Chef, Brianna Partridge was selected for the  3 Hat Mentoring Program, ‘Tasting Success’ by her TAFE, Sydney  Institute, Loftus campus.

Brianna was one of only 15 successful apprentices across Sydney Institute of TAFE to be chosen to learn from one of the masters of modern cooking as part of the mentoring program in the Hospitality industry. The Tasting Success Program is open to second and third year female apprentices studying commercial cookery.

Brianna was exposed to the skills of MARK BEST from MARQUE restaurant in Surry Hills. MARQUE is one of the few ‘3 Hat Awarded’ restaurants in Sydney. Completing 1 week of work experience with Mark and his team, this fantastic opportunity also included Brianna shadowing Mark for 1 – 2 days a week for 8 months, giving her the opportunity to build network contacts, receive hands-on advice on how to develop her love of food from a passion to a career and take part in confidence-building workshops.

Brianna is hosted by Sutherland Shire Council, based at their Hazlehurst Art Gallery restaurant.

The ‘Tasting Success’ program was developed in 2007 by the Office for Women’s Policy, NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, in partnership with TAFE NSW – Sydney Institute.
