The Shire Group Training in conjunction with a local window manufacturer in Caringbah has a very rare Shopfitting Certificate III apprenticeship available for a young & enthusiastic hard worker.
This rare opportunity is available to those who are willing to learn new skills and develop themselves as a tradesman/woman. Operating out of a workshop in Caringbah this is an excellent way to secure employment close to home.
Ideally you will be dedicated, hardworking, have a passion for trades and an obvious strength in construction. You will enjoy both on the job and formal off the job training including one day per week at TAFE.
General Duties will include the following

Cutting aluminum and glass to size
-
Assembling and glazing
-
Fabrication and assembly of frames
-
Preparation and installation of mirrors and shower screens
-
Commercial and structural glazing
This opportunity requires a 4 year personal commitment to this host and The Shire Group Training in all aspects, including on and off the job training, meeting study requirements and a positive attitude to safety.
The successful applicant will possess the following.

Sound numerical and literacy skills

Demonstrated interest in the trade

Ability to follow instruction

Be punctual at all times

OHS General Induction Card (White Card) is essential.
As part of the 4 year apprenticeship you will complete a Certificate III in Shopfitting and will develop skills in all areas of the trade. Throughout your apprenticeship you will receive specialized training with the support of mentors and experienced tradesmen. The successful applicant will attend TAFE one day per week during term time.
